The terrorism aticken people of Pakistan have been suffering for quite some time now. Not only frequent bomb blasts has been a problem, target killings and other security threats have claimed many lives. Pakistani society has been under stress and mental pressures recently.
The constant rise in Oil prices in the international Oil Makket has given to rise to extreme inflation. The problem that is potentially even more dangerous than terrorism itself. This abnormal rise in the prices of basic comodities has broken the back of the common man.
But its not only inflation that we have to fight with, Basic food items like wheat flour, rice, etc have become scarce. People wait for hours in long queues to get a 10 kg bag of wheat flour at an (un)controlled rate. I am calling this (un)controlled because although the government has fixed a control rate for wheat flour bag, no one on earth has a control on it.
Power shortage is another major issue that the nation is faced with. Load-shedding of 4 to 5 hours is done in major cities. The situation of towns and villages is even worse. Electricity remains absent more than it is present. Out of 24 hours, a minimum of 10-12 hours of load shedding is done. This not only causes dis-comfort to domestic users. It also halts business activities, industrial progress and growth.
The newly elected government has failed to do anything about these issues. International food agencies are hinting a civil war due to food shortages throughout the world. I hope things don't get that worst.
